UPS vehicle crashes into Latham building
A UPS driver was injured after crashing his vehicle into a building in Latham on Thursday night.
The crash happened just before 10 p.m. at 14 Wade Road. The truck left the roadway and crashed into the office of Barbera Homes.
There was an initial report of entrapment, but Latham Fire Chief William Childs said the driver was out of the vehicle when firefighters arrived minutes later.
The man was taken to Albany Medical Center for non-life-threatening injuries, Childs said.
The building was damaged, but structurally sound, according to Childs.
The truck hit a ground transformer, spilling more than 100 gallons of transformer fluid. National Grid and the Department of Environmental Conservation responded.
Colone Police are investigating.
