Valentine's weekend is a busy time for restaurants, but business might be hampered if people are waiting until Saturday night to celebrate.
Valentine’s weekend is a busy time for restaurants, but business might be hampered if people are waiting until Saturday night to celebrate.
The last time Valentine’s Day fell on President’s Weekend was in 2004, so This is a rare occurrence but leads to restaurants like Innovo Kitchen in Colonie being completely full.
Restaurant’s owner John LaPosta said they were completely booked for Friday night, with over 400 reservations for Valentine’s Day.
The restaurant has an ice bar with drink specials set up, along with red blankets with heaters setup outside to help keep people warm at the ice bar. However, having Valentine’s Day on a weekend instead of the middle of the week actually hurts business, LaPosta said.
