Three juveniles accused of ransacking Corinth community museum
Three juveniles have been arrested for allegedly ransacking a community museum in Corinth.
Saratoga County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the Hudson River Mill Museum around 10:20 a.m. Monday for a report of vandalism.
The museum posted a video on Facebook showing the destruction of the facility on Palmer Avenue. The vandals broke in and smashed every piece of glass and threw paper. They smashed file cabinets and set off all the fire extinguishers. They tore sheetrock that contained beautiful murals on the walls.
The museum has collected items from the community over the past four decades, including photographs, books and objects.
“This is your community Corinth. This is something that the museum team was building to share with you, and this is what we did to ourselves. This is what the children of this community did,” said the person showing off the damage.
The three juveniles have been charged with felony counts of third-degree burglary and second-degree criminal mischief. They were released to the custody of their parents. The investigation is ongoing.
