Vermont State Police arrested man for DUI, breath test showed 3x the legal limit

Vermont State Police say they arrested Jose Perez, 25, of Shaftsbury, VT on Friday for a DUI.

Police received a call around 9 p.m. from a concerned citizen regarding a possible intoxicated driver, who was driving on Route 7A in Vermont from Shaftsbury towards Arlington.

Troopers located the vehicle and conducted a stop on the same road following the call.

Police say they suspected Perez was impaired and they asked him to perform field sobriety exercises, during which he showed signs he was impaired.

Perez’s roadside breath test determined he was over three times the legal limit of .08% blood alcohol content, said police.

Troopers took Perez into custody and processed him for a DUI.

Perez was later released with a citation to appear in Bennington County Superior Court Criminal Division.
