Vermont State Police tell us they discovered a body of a male in Vermont’s Sherman Reservoir on Saturday morning around 9:45 a.m.

The body matched the description of missing person, 59-year-old Matthew Houskeeper, who was reported missing on August 14, said State Police.

Authorities say the body will be sent to Burlington for an autopsy and where formal identification will be performed.

Vermont State Police found what they suspected to be Houskeeper’s kayak on Friday night on the Sherman Reservoir, and on August 16, they found his vehicle near the reservoir.

59-year-old Matthew Houskeeper was reported missing ten days ago on August 14, after he failed to show up for work.

Vermont State Police thank all the agencies that assisted in the search, including Rowe Massachusetts Police Department, the Massachusetts State Police, the Vermont Department of Fish and Wildlife, New England K9 Search and Rescue, and Rescue Inc.
