Whitehall working on solution to problem that shut off water supply
The Village shut off wall water to the village on Sunday night after their plant was low on water. Officials said the plant is not drawing enough water from a nearby lake.
The village of Whitehall is working on an emergency solution to the problem that has shut off water supply.
The system was shut off because Pine Lake was not drawing enough water in the system to fill the system.
In a statement released after 4 p.m. Monday, Mayor Francis Putorti said a diver was used to check the intake in Pine Lake. The screen was cleaned, but there was not a large increase in flow to the water plant.
The village is working with state agencies and its engineers and contractor to obtain additional supply from the lake on an emergency basis.
Bottled water will be available until 8 p.m. at the village firehouse and beginning again on 8 a.m. The village is also working on non-potable water availability for flushing toilets.
