‘Walk Like a Penguin’ to prevent slipping on ice

The icy conditions have resulted in an increase of visits to the hospital by people slipping and falling, according to St. Peter’s Health Partners.
The hospital is reminding people to use the “Walk Like a Penguin” method to avoid falling in this weather. This involves pointing your feet out like a penguin, bending your knees slightly and keeping your head up.
If you go slow and take short steps, you will maintain your balance.
In addition, St. Peter’s advises people to stay off their phone when walking.
