Washington County police chief still on job after domestic violence case resolved

A Washington County police chief is still on the job more than six months after being charged in a domestic-related incident.
Cambridge-Greenwich Police Chief Robert Danko is accused of holding a woman he knew against her will.
Danko pleaded guilty last month to the lesser charge of disorderly conduct.
As of Dec. 30, Danko had collected more than $33,000 in salary since his arrest, which is paid for by the village of Cambridge and Greenwich.
NewsChannel 13 has obtained a copy of a risk protection order that was signed in July 2024, which prevents Danko from buying, possessing or carrying a gun until July 2025.
