Water restored at Glenville mobile home park

Residents at a mobile home park in Glenville had to go three days with no running water. The problem forced some residents out of their home.

Residents at the Glenville Manor Estates had to go three days with no running water.

The problem forced some residents out of their homes.

The mobile home park lost water Thursday night. It came back on Sunday evening.

The town of Glenville posted an Order to Vacate notice on everyone’s doors Saturday night, saying the living conditions without water were unsafe.

The American Red Cross handed out bottles of water and set up a shelter for residents.

Cassandra Compton says she couldn’t use that shelter because she has a child with autism.

“Water pressure started going Friday. Water went out for my trailer on Wednesday,” she said. “We go to my sister-in-law’s house to shower. We’ve been making runs to Lowes for water, 5-gallon water buckets that they have.”

The Glenville town supervisor says workers will be checking each of the homes Monday to make sure the water is working properly before they lift the order to vacate.

Residents say Glenville Manor Estates gave them no updates during those three days.
