Watervliet residents directed to boil water over filtration issues

People living in Watervliet are being asked to boil their water because of an issue with disinfection.
The city said it disinfects water to remove bacteria. Monitoring on Sunday showed heightened levels of harmful microbes.
NewsChannel 13 is told the process has been fixed and is running as normal, but the city is asking people to boil their water for the next two days to be safe.
Watervliet leaders will share more information when all water is OK to drink, they said.
Anyone with questions can call the water filtration plant at 518-785-7082 or the Albany County Health Department at 518-447-4620.
