There were three separate shootings over the weekend in Albany, including another one at an all too familiar place in the city’s Pine Hills neighborhood, in the area of Madison and Ontario streets. A person was arrested in that shooting on Monday.

The shooting happened around 4 a.m. Saturday morning.

Residents and business owners are long past the point of simply being fed up.

Madison Park is directly across the street from Paesan’s Pizza on Ontario Street.

Two individuals pulled out their guns and began firing at one another at point black range, investigators said. One person was hit. The other fled.

Directly across the street from the park is the Police Athletic League facility where 60 to 70 kids stop by after school each day, where they find safe haven and supervision indoors.

The park is supposed to be available for their use as well.
