Whitehall Rec center courts named in honor of former director Charlie Bascue

The new basketball and pickleball courts at the Whitehall Recreation Center are named in honor of Charles “Charlie” Bascue who was Whitehall recreation director for nearly three decades, and a coach for even longer.  

Bascue was a positive influence and a father figure to hundreds of young people through the years.

He’s currently battling Alzheimer’s Disease, but he was able to attend the naming ceremony with his family and dozens of well-wishers.
