11th annual Sarcoma Strong 5K brings together 500+ runners and walkers

A rare form of cancer is gaining awareness and important research funding thanks to a nationwide and global event that started here in the Capital Region.

the 11th annual Sarcoma Strong 5K brought more than 500 runners and walkers to Saratoga Spa State Park on Saturday morning. Ever since Dr. Matthew DiCaprio founded Sarcoma Strong, more than $1 million has been raised for research and patient support. A couple of weeks ago, we shared the story of Tina Hogan’s fight with myxoid liposarcoma and her triumph. Tina was at Saturday’s 5K with her husband and daughter. Also over the weekend, there were Sarcoma Strong runs in Boston, New Jersey, Ontario, Canada and India. The Sarcoma Strong annual gala is March 1st at the Glen Sanders.
