Adirondack Thunder charity hocked game raises $37,000+

The Adirondack Thunder's Stick-It-To-Cancer event was a huge success.

The Adirondack Thunder’s Stick It To Cancer event was a huge success.

NewsChannel 13 was there on Friday night before fans had the chance to paint the ice with messages for loved ones they have lost or are currently battling cancer. For a $10 donation, they could simply paint a name or add an inspirational note.

When it was all added up, they’d raised more than $37,000 to support the Patient Assistance Fund at the C.R. Wood Cancer Center at Glens Falls Hospital.

The game was played on the painted ice on Saturday.

The team also wore special jerseys that were auctioned off after Saturday’s game.
