The city of Albany marked Arbor Day on Friday, with the ceremonial planting of trees.

Mayor Kathy Sheehan, the New York state Department of Environmental Conservation and more than 80 second graders from Albany School of Humanities planted trees outside the school on Whitehall Road.

Arbor Day in New York is traditionally celebrated the last Friday in April.
