Donations being accepted today for police sergeant’s family impacted by Selkirk house fire

A comprehensive look at local, statewide and national news events is provided by the NewsChannel 13 Team, along with updates on sports and the weather forecast.

Last week, Coeymans Police Sergeant Kelly Arnold and her family lost everything in a house fire on River Road.

Today and tomorrow, Selkirk Station #1 will have a collection site. Ally Hoy was in front of the station where donations will be welcomed.

They are asking for clothing, hygiene products, gift cards, toys, and anything else that could help the family out.

You can drop off donations for the family from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. today and from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday at 126 Maple Avenue in Selkirk.

GoFundMe page has raised more than $27,000 already.

Selkirk Fire Chief Tom Neri said the cause of the fire is under investigation, but it appears to have started in the kitchen.
