Saratoga Springs family caring for two sick children
A young mother from Saratoga Springs is dealing with an incredibly difficult challenge of having not one, but two very sick children.
Ashley and Ryan Bernath's youngest child, Lucy, is not quite a year old and has spent much of her young life in the hospital being treated first for COVID, and later for gastroparesis, which is an ability to hold down food.
It was shortly after Lucy improved but was still using a feeding tube that the young family got terrible news.

Lucy’s big sister, Charlie, was diagnosed with leukemia.
Both children are being treated at Massachusetts General Hospital, and with expenses piling up, friends back in Saratoga Springs are holding a big fundraiser.
“Cheering for Charlie and Lucy” will be held on Sunday, June 30 from noon to 5 p.m. at Kings Tavern on Union Avenue. It will feature live music, raffles, a live auction with Tom Durkin.
