‘Leap of Kindness’ spreads from Saratoga County to around the world
February 29 has been dubbed “Leap of Kindness Day” by the Saratoga County Chamber of Commerce, and the idea of using it to do something kind for someone else is catching on around the world.
The initiative matches up nonprofits that have a need with businesses and individuals who can meet the need.
Examples are donations of paint and hardware to a camp in Middle Grove and new balls for dodgeball and scatterball that were donated to a community center in Ballston.
If you’re thinking of something a bit simpler, you could drop off coffee to emergency workers or something similar.
The idea started in Saratoga County and has spread around the country and around the world. In 2016, Leap of Kindness Day spread to 50 chambers in 30 states, and 200 chambers in 2020.
