A church in Mechanicville wants to make sure no student goes without a nice prom dress or suit.

Commitment Community Church on Park Avenue held a prom dress and suit giveaway on Saturday.

The church has actually done this for the past few years. The clothes are donated by the community.

“Our heart is really to supply everything we can for their needs, so they can still do the quintessential high school things, which a lot of us, if we’re struggling, we don’t get the chance to do and we miss out on all of those memories,” said Kaitlin Coonley, with Commitment Community Church.

The church accepts donations for the project, all year long.

Another Project Prom event will be held on April 26.
