A local charity house says it can now host more than a thousand families after exceeding its goal during a recent event.

Ronald McDonald House Charities of The Capital Region said it raised $154,429 during its annual Radiothon.

The 24th annual fundraising event was held over the course of 48 hours last month.

Radiothon is a signature fundraising event for the charity. It raises essential resources to support families whose children are facing serious health challenges in our community.
