Members of the Menands Union Free School District are honoring a beloved teacher, who lost her battle to breast cancer.
Faculty and staff wore pink clothes in memory of Sara Maldonado.
She was a kindergarten teacher, who died of breast cancer in June.
In her memory, and in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, more than two dozen of Sara’s colleagues gathered around a tree planted in her honor.
Sara’s impact on students will be remembered forever, Principal Kathleen Wylie said.
