Troy veteran gets big honor at Yankees game

Wayne Hunter, 75, of Troy, was named the “Veteran of the Game” at the Yankees game this past Tuesday Night.
Hunter served two tours in Vietnam from 1966 to 1969.
He went to the game with his daughter Mary, and grandson Eddie. They got to hold World Series trophies. They got to try on the rings.
He got a special shoutout from the New York Police Department officers nearby.
He was even honored with a special announcement at the Hard Rock Cafe.
Hunter didn’t want all this at first, but the recognition left him feeling emotional and appreciated.
The unforgettable night was topped off with a giant ice cream sundae.
