Automatic sunscreen dispensers being installed around Albany County

A new plan to protect residents against skin cancer was revealed in Watervliet on Tuesday.

Albany County Executive Dan McCoy unveiled the new initiative for park facilities across the county, that will protect residents from the dangers of sun exposure and skin cancer.

The goal is to help residents stay protected from the sun, even when they forget sunscreen, McCoy said.

The first phase of the project will include more than 20 sunscreen dispensers placed in several municipalities over the next few weeks.
