CVS Health: Plan in place to help patients of infusion services

NewsChannel 13 is following the national IV fluid shortage and CVS Health is responding to our questions.

The company plans to close or sell 29 regional pharmacies and lay off employees in late January.

We asked how this would affect patient infusion services. CVS said part of its plan includes discontinuing infusion services for antibiotics, inotropic medications, and other acute home infusion therapies.
CVS Health told NewsChannel 13, “We have a comprehensive transition plan in placeā€¦Our pharmacy teams will work directly with impacted patients to help them find a new provider and seamlessly transition their care.”
This comes after CVS Health announced the layoffs of almost 3,000 employees.

CVS Health’s infusion services are done through Coram.
