The device, marketed as Neffy, is used an emergency treatment for adults and children who weigh at least 66 pounds. It is given in a single dose. A second dose can be given if the person’s symptoms don’t improve.
Common symptoms of severe allergic reactions include hives, swelling and difficulty breathing.
Neffy could help treat more than 33 million Americans with allergies to food and other triggers.
