Antidepressant prescriptions up for ages 12-25
The number of people ages 12 to 25 taking antidepressants has risen by 64%, according to a study in the journal Pediatrics.
For girls between ages 12 and 17, the prescription rate has increased 130%.
Researchers said transitioning to virtual learning, the lack of social life and more mental health awareness could be factors for the increase.
