Study: Not all men taking steps to care for health
A study from the Cleveland Clinic said that 95% of men said living a healthy lifestyle is a top priority. However, not as many men are taking action to take care of their lives.
The survey shows Generation X and Baby Boomers are more likely to go in for annual exams than Gen Z and Millennials.
The same goes for having a primary care doctor.
While Gen Zers and Millennials aren’t regularly getting physicals, six out of 10 say that they do take care of their mental health.
Regardless of age, you could still be at risk for certain conditions based on family history, according to Dr. Peter Bajic, with Cleveland Clinic.
“So even younger men, who may not be as much at risk for some of the things that happen later in life, it’s important for them to get routine health maintenance visits for things like blood pressure, cholesterol, etc.,” he said.
The survey also found that Gen Zers are most likely to look for health information on social media.
Dr. Bajic said if you do look up information online, it’s important to make sure that it’s coming from a reputable source.
