Study: People with family history of heart disease not getting screened
People not getting screened for cancer
A study finds that most people know heart disease runs in the family, but some aren’t taking steps to reduce their risk.
Around 40% percent of people who have lost a family member to heart disease have never been screened. That number jumps to 54% among millennials.
High cholesterol and diabetes are examples of hereditary conditions that can be managed through diet, cardiologists said.
Even genetic heart issues can be identified and treated thanks to medical advancements.
If you have a family history of heart disease, talk to your doctor about ways to reduce your risk.
