Feb. 19, 2024, marked 70 years since NewsChannel 13 signed on.
On February 19, 1954, we signed on as WTRI and we were on Channel 35.
We moved to Channel 13 in 1959, becoming WAST.
We became WNYT and an NBC affiliate in 1981.
Before becoming an NBC affiliate, as we are now, we were affiliated with both ABC and CBS.
