Sasha Spitchka owns the Fred Astaire Dance Studio in Albany, alongside her husband, Boris. The studio marked its 25th anniversary last April.

They danced in Ukraine and took part in competitions. They also teach.

Sasha fell in love with dance at 7 years old, and that loves comes through in her teaching.

“It helps because you love to dance, and you bring your love to dance to your students,” she said.
They also serve as Regional Directors for Astaire Dance Studios Massachusetts Region.

“We help wedding couples. We help somebody who’s lonely. We help somebody who likes to do exercise. We help somebody who just likes to dance,” she said. “We have amazing teachers who dance with them,” she said.
Sasha wants women to know learning to dance is a skill that can benefit them in all areas of their lives.
“We are helping women to build confidence. So they come in very shy sometimes, but they are strong,” she said.

The goal is to bring them out of their skin.

They teach all partner dances, including waltz, tango, cha-cha, salsa, country-western and swing dancing.
