Beignet Bellies opened up last month. Beignets are deep-fried dough, typically sprinkled with powdered sugar. They’re a staple in New Orleans.

The eatery’s menu includes sweet and savory beignets.

You’ll find options filled with fruit and even some stuffed with meat.

Owner Josita Walker is also looking to add other food items to the menu.

The idea was born when Walker took a trip to New Orleans and tasted her first beignet.
She then decided to bring the idea back to her hometown.
She originally opened a location on New Scotland Avenue – before relocating.
Beignet Bellies and its logo honors Walker’s father, Pastor Isadore Burns Sr., who died in 2021.
