Capital Region Walk for R.I.T.A. returns this fall
The 19th Annual Capital Region Walk for R.I.T.A is set for later this month.
The event takes place on Sunday, September 24. Check-in time for the event is at 9 A.M. and the walk starts at 11 A.M.
It’s a fundraiser for the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. The yearly walk provides an opportunity to acknowledge the ways in which suicide and mental health conditions affect people’s lives.
“Just show up that day and register, make a donation if you’d like. You know it’s a fundraising event, but fundraising is not required, because it’s also a togetherness event,” Dan Egan of AFSP said.
Money raised at this year’s walk will allow the organization to fulfill its mission of saving lives and bringing hope to those affected by suicide through community programming and suicide prevention research.
