Coasters in Saratoga County encourage discussions about relationship abuse

Have you noticed some new coasters at bars and restaurants throughout Saratoga County? They’re part of an effort to encourage conversations around relationship abuse and sexual assault prevention.

The “Raising the Bar” project is a collaboration spearheaded by Men With Wellspring.

The goal is to raise awareness about sexual victimization and to encourage local people to get involved in changing the social norms that contribute to sexual victimization.

Wellspring Executive Director Maggie Fronk says, “We are so touched that more than 40 local restaurants and bars immediately and enthusiastically joined forces with us to raise awareness and create social change.”

The coasters not only have text to capture patrons’ attention, but links and QR codes to Wellspring’s website where they can learn how to get involved.
