A small but growing business called The Local Branch is experiencing its first summer in Saratoga Springs.

Specializing in high-quality, handcrafted leather goods, the company was established in 2009 by Mackenzie and Blaine Vossler.

The couple recently celebrated the opening of the Spa City store, which is now operating in addition to the original location.

“We are a small artisan brand. The Local Branch hand makes all of our own leather goods,” Mackenzie Vossler said.

The business began on the road, out of a small maker workshop inside an Airstream – before opening its first retail shop in the Finger Lakes in 2018.

The shop is located at 447 Broadway in Saratoga Springs, the former site of Saratoga Coffee Traders.
Looking ahead, the owners are eager to see what the future holds.

“We’ve been thinking about if we want to open up other stores, but I think for now just focusing on our two locations and kind of expanding into wholesale and more bulk orders,” Mackenzie Vossler said.
