Hubb Brick Oven & Bar open for business

Hubb Brick Oven & Bar open for business in Troy

Just in time for St. Patrick’s Day, there’s a new Irish Pub open for business in downtown Troy.

The Hubb Brick Oven & Bar opened in December, at the former home of the Bradley at 28 4th Street.

“It’s been a dream of my husband’s,” said co-owner Stacey Hubbard. “And when the building became available, he thought alright let’s get it, let’s do some work for myself.”

First-time bar owners Dave and Stacey Hubbard did some work to bring the building back to its historic roots.

“We’re on the National Registry now, as a historic building in Troy, and he just wants to preserve what it was. Bring it back to what it was,” she said.

Dave has worked in several Collar City restaurants as a contractor, but Stacy has taught elementary school for 28 years in the Shenendehowa district.

“It’s a challenge. You know, I love my teaching job, but this is a different type of fun as well because I like interacting with people, and we get new people every week. So it’s kind of nice to know those relationships,” she said.

Right now, the menu features a handful of shareable apps like wings, tater tots, mac and cheese, and ribs. You can even buy snack-size versions of each food, if you want to sample a little of everything. You can also try out smashburgers and other handhelds.

There are also upgrades on the horizon, with a plan to add pizza ovens.

The Hubb also serves brunch on the weekends.
Discounts are available for teachers, first responders, and members of the military.
