Nine Pin Ciderworks host Earth Day cleanup

Nine Pin Ciderworks is celebrating 10 years of beautifying the Warehouse District in honor of Earth Day.

Nine Pin Ciderworks is celebrating 10 years of beautifying the Warehouse District in honor of Earth Day.

“It’s a tradition that Nine Pin started 10 years ago and it has just steadily become more and more of a thing,” said co-owner Alejandro del Pearl.

The cidery’s tenth annual Earth Day cleanup event was held this past weekend.

The city of Albany provides the materials for volunteers to clean up the neighborhood.
“We have a great business community down here in the warehouse district, and it’s great that all the bars and restaurants and other businesses that are here show up to help to spruce the neighborhood up here in celebration of Earth Day,” del Pearl said.

As a thank you, volunteers were invited for a few free drinks in the tasting room.

The cidery hopes to see more people take part in these events as a way to connect, contribute, and celebrate our planet.

“Our whole business runs on the apple, and the apple depends on the earth, so we want to clean the earth, so that we can continue to make cider from New York apples,” del Pearl said.
