A groundbreaking initiative to get all kids on bikes in Saratoga Springs has sparked the creation of new programming in city schools.
Nonprofit Saratoga Shredders, which offers mountain bike programs for children, recently coordinated the funding for fleets of youth balance bikes in all six of the district’s elementary schools.
Executive Director Anna Laloƫ is proud of this initiative, and grateful for the support that is helping to make it happen.
This program removes barriers for kids to get involved in the historically cost-prohibitive sport of mountain biking, Laloƫ said.
Saratoga Shredders still needs donations to help with the elementary school program, before switching its focus to middle and high school classes.
