Old World Provisions opening manufacturing plant in Schenectady

Old World Provisions is opening a manufacturing plant in Schenectady.
The new facility will be in the old Cappiello Dairy Plant. It allows the company to grow its bakery and specialty confections business and will create more than 50 new jobs in Schenectady County.
The facility will also get a $1 million makeover.
Old World Provisions produces a full line of deli products and operates under an exclusive partnership to make Carnegie Deli recipes, including their world-famous cheesecake.
The new manufacturing facility will operate as a specialty bakery for customers across the country. It will produce Carnegie Deli’s cheesecakes, and new chocolate-covered Carnegie Deli cheesecake bites for sale online and at grocery stores across the United States.

A capital grant of $295,000 is helping Old World Provisions retrofit the plant.
