Rotterdam BJs one step closer to relocation
BJ's Wholesale Club has reached its final approval for a brand new store in Rotterdam.
BJ’s Wholesale Club has its final approval for a new store in Rotterdam. Plans to relocate the retailer from 70 West Campbell Road to an undeveloped 17 acres at Duanesburg Road have been in the works for more than a year.
Lawmakers unanimously approved a rezoning of the property last month, from agriculture to general business zoning.
That paves the way for the company to build a 102,000 square-foot store and gas station with eight fuel islands.
The store has been eyeing a move, because of its inability to install gas pumps at the current location.
Site plans also call for the construction of a 2,500-square foot fast food restaurant.
There’s still no timeframe for when all this work will be complete.
BJ’s still needs to get final site plan approvals before construction can begin.
