New York named 19th most entrepreneurial state, according to a study by Skyline Social

A new study has ranked New York as the 19th month entrepreneurial state.

Digital marketing experts at Skyline Social analyzed U.S. Census Bureau data from October 2023 to September 2024 to determine what states had the most people interested in starting a business.

New York had 1,528 business applications per 100,000 residents. The state recorded more than 299,000 business applications across the period analyzed for the study.

November was the most popular month to start a business, with nearly 27,000 applications, compared to March, which had the fewest at just 24,000

Wyoming tops the ranking.

At the other end of the scale, West Virginia is the state where people are the least interested in starting a business.
