A 34-year-old Washington County woman has died after her car fell down a 30-foot embankment in Granville on Sunday.

State Police were called to New Boston Road just after 9 a.m.

A passenger, Guistina M. Rathbun, of Hampton, was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

The driver was removed from the vehicle and taken to Albany Medical Center with serious injuries. They are in critical condition.

The crash is under investigation, but it appears it happened overnight and was later discovered and reported by a passerby.
