Woman charged with attempted murder after Albany stabbing

An Albany woman has been charged with attempted murder in connection with a stabbing.

Iyana Evans, 32, stabbed a 29-year-old man in the chest around 7:40 Monday morning, said police, who added Evans knows the victim.

The stabbing happened in the 600 block of Myrtle Avenue, investigators said.

The man was taken to Albany Medical Center and is in stable condition.

Evans is charged with weapons possession in addition to the attempted murder charge. She’s due in Albany City Court on Tuesday.
