Woman killed after chasing dog on I-787
An elderly woman and her dog are dead after they were hit by a car on Interstate 787.
The accident happened on Sunday around 10:15 p.m. near Exit 1 in Albany.
The 82-year-old from Canada was in the road where she had just retrieved her dog when they were hit. She has been identified as Noella Boucher of Quebec.
The woman died at the scene. Her dog was found nearby. It died because of its injuries.
State police say the driver stopped immediately. No charges are expected.
