Athena Geracitano, originally from Schodack, has now been in an evacuation warning area just outside Los Angeles.

She has lived in the South Pasadena area in California for about 25 years.

Geracitano is only about 10 miles from the Eaton Canyon fire. That fire is now spanning over 10,000 acres and spreading by the second.

The entire experience has been very stressful, she said.

At least five people she knows already lost their homes, she said.
