Worker rescued after falling into Waterford lock
Canal worker rescued after falling into Lock 8 in Waterford.
An employee working on a lock in Saratoga County was rescued after falling 10 feet off scaffolding into the water.
It happened around 9 a.m. Wednesday morning at Lock 5 in Waterford.
The worker was conscious, first responders told NewsChannel 13.
“Luckily and thankfully, the Canal Corporation had a crane on sight,” said Cam Cardner, the Assistant Chief of the Northside Fire District in Waterford. “We packaged the patient into our stokes basket, and we were able to carefully lift him out of the lock.”
The extent of the person’s injuries is not known right now.
