Accused Moreau Lake State Park kidnapper due in court

BALLSTON SPA, N.Y.- Craig Ross, the man accused of kidnapping a 9-year-old girl from Moreau Lake State Park on Sept. 30, is set to appear in Saratoga County Court Thursday.
Ross pleaded not guilty on November 17 to multiple charges, including first-degree kidnapping, assault, and endangering the welfare of a child. The most serious charge, first-degree kidnapping, carries a sentence of 25 years to life.
The disappearance of the 9-year-old Ross is accused of kidnapping prompted a days long search by law enforcement. The girl was eventually found in Ross’ mobile home in Milton on Oct. 2.
Ross’s appearance Thursday is scheduled for 9:30 a.m. A tentative trial date has been scheduled for Apr. 1.
Ross is currently being held in Saratoga County Jail without bail.
