Albany Fire Department pink bus pull champions

The Albany Fire Department successfully defended its 2022 title, claiming the pink bus pull trophy Friday afternoon. The bus pull is part of the CDTA’s effort to raise money for the American Cancer Society’s Men Wear Pink campaign.

This is the eighth year CDTA has partnered with the American Cancer Society. They’ve raised $20K this year for the campaign and more than $100K since its partnership began.

WNYT’s Caitlin Irla and Chris Onorato, along with six WNYT colleagues also pulled the 3,000 pound pink CDTA bus Friday. “I was not going to be intimidated by the bus,” Irla said. “But when I walked in, I said oh no, this is not going to go well.”

Albany Police Recruits, and the Siena Baseball Team came in second and third place, respectively.
