‘Boy Meets World’ actor Ben Savage running for Congress
“Boy Meets World” actor Ben Savage is running for Congress.
Savage made the announcement on Instagram Monday.
He’s hoping to fill the seat vacated by rep. Adam Schiff.
“I firmly believe in standing up for what is right, ensuring equality and expanding opportunities for all,” said Savage, in the social media post. “I’m running for congress because it’s time to restore faith in government by offering reasonable, innovative and compassionate solutions to our country’s most pressing issues.”
Savage played the main character, Cory Matthews, on the ABC sitcom “Boy Meets World,” which ran from 1993 to 2000.
He reprised the role many years later – this time as a dad – on the Disney spinoff “Girl Meets World.”
Savage faces many other candidates in the bid.
