Fruit Stripe Gum discontinued after 54 years
After 54 years, Fruit Stripe Gum has been discontinued.
The Ferrara Candy Company has confirmed the decision to end production of the now iconic chewing gum.
Fruit Striped Gum was created in 1969 by the Beech-Nut Company.
It came in five flavors and each stick contained a temporary tattoo of mascot Yipes the Zebra.
Despite the sad news, Ferrara should be OK. The company also owns the wildly popular Nerds brand of candies.
