Remembering Chief Warren Abriel Jr.
The Albany Fire Department is mourning the loss of retired Chief Warren April Jr. He served as chief from 2014 to 2018.
ALBANY, N.Y. (WNYT)- Funeral arrangements are being made for retired Albany Fire Chief Warren Abriel Jr. An announcement was made by the Albany Fire Department Thursday morning around 8 a.m. on their Facebook page.
“Chief Abriel was a 46-year member of our Albany Fire Department, appointed on June 5, 1972,” the announcement said. “Our thoughts and prayers are with the Abriel family.”
Abriel was chief of the Albany Fire Department from February 2014 to July 2018.
All department flags will be lowered to half-staff in honor of Abriel.
